AKTOR CONCESSIONS has signed a Concession Agreement for the right to use, operate, manage and develop the Alimos Marina for a period of 40 years -with the right of mutual extension for another 10 years.

This is the largest marina in the Balkans and a strategic investment of € 100 million on the rapidly developing coastal front of the Greek capital, with multiple added value, in both local and national level.

Alimos Marina is a point of reference for residents of the wider urban, visitors and owners of private and professional yachts, as it serves as an important departure point for a large number of yachts. It has an excellent strategic location, as it is located southwest of Athens, 15 km from the city center, 8 km south of the Port of Piraeus and 30 km from the Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos, while it is served by a dense transport network, which includes Tram, Buses and Taxis.

In particular, the Concessionaire Company “DEVELOPMENT OF NEW ALIMOS MARINA”, a subsidiary of AKTOR CONCESSIONS, undertook the responsibility to reshape and regenerate the land and maritime areas, for the creation of a state-of-the-art, hospitable and integrated marina, which will be a landmark for the wider region, while contributing to the overall upgrade of the Greek tourism product.

The Development Plan provides the creation of a marina that will be a modern and attractive pole of leisure and business activity with upgraded, functional and outdoor spaces. In this new, multifaceted and protected environment, a series of business and recreational activities will be developed, with a set of options and services that will make Alimos Marina a point of reference for the “Athenian Riviera”, but also for the Mediterranean region.

In the land zone of the marina, that spans nearly across 210 acres, 18,000 m² of modern design, upscale ground floor or up to two stories premises  will be developed for recreation, dining, hospitality services, office spaces, boat parking and repair services, as well as for commercial use. The surrounding area of the marina’s land zone will be landscaped in such a way so as to incorporate streets, pedestrian lanes, bicycle paths, parking spaces, as well as green areas to host outdoor cultural events for the visitors. Moreover, both the working spaces that will be constructed, as well as the warehouses, the repair services spaces and the retail establishments will be addressed to the most important companies in professional yacht charters, as well as to other companies that are active in the boats segment, the tourism sector as well as to the wider entrepreneurship.

The maritime zone of the Alimos Marina, an area of 428 acres, disposes of nearly 1,000 berths, after the reconstruction of the floating pontoons, which will present a new, modern design that will make the best use of the necessary space for offering top quality services to the vessels and their users. Furthermore, special attention will be paid to the modernization of important areas for the smooth operation of the dock, such as modern establishments (pillars) for boats refueling, other safety facilities, lighting, security with automated surveillance systems etc.

Finally, there will be special provision for maintaining the marina area and especially the waterfront area clean, in order to protect the environment from the marina operation, preserve the high cleaning standards and comply with the regulation for the collection and disposal of all waste (liquid and solid, from vessels and other uses).

Olympia Odos is a motorway which connects Elefsina to Patras and serves as the main link between Athens and the port of Patras. At the same time, it is a project of national strategic importance, as it links the capital, Athens, with the Regions of Peloponnese, Western Greece and Epirus.

Olympia Odos is included among the biggest road projects ever constructed in Greece, since it is the only motorway whose largest part (from Corinth to Patras) was constructed while the road was in operation.

In addition, it has been one of the most challenging road projects due to the unstable geological environment of the area along the northern coastline of the Peloponnese, from Corinth to Patras, as well as due to the large number of interchanges it includes, with an interchange corresponding to every 7 kilometers of the motorway.

Having a total length of 201.5 km, Olympia Odos includes among others, 29 Interchanges, 80 Bridges, 38 Overpasses, 204 Underpasses, as well as 29 Tunnels with a total length of 25.6 km.

The total construction cost of Olympia Odos amounted to €1.5 billion and was financed by 38% by private funds of the Concessionaire “Olympia Odos S.A.” (in which AKTOR CONCESSIONS holds a 17% share), 33% by European Union funds, 23% by the contribution of users and 6% by the Greek State.

The term of the Concession Agreement has been set to 30 years, starting in 2008.

Aegean Motorway constitutes a critical part of the road axis that connects Athens to Thessaloniki, as it extends from Raches (Fthiotida Prefecture) to Kleidi (Imathia Prefecture).

The project involves the construction of a new 25 km motorway section, from Evangelismos (Larissa Prefecture) to Skotina (Pieria Prefecture), including among others, 3 twin tunnels – of which one is the largest road tunnel in the Balkans – 22 bridges, as well as the reconstruction and upgrading of the existing motorway, extending from Raches to Kleidi, with a total length of 230 km.

The Concessionaire “Aegean Motorway S.A.” (in which AKTOR CONCESSIONS holds a 22.2% share) signed the Concession Agreement for the design, construction, financing, operation, maintenance and exploitation of the Maliakos – Kleidi Motorway on June 28^th 2007, which provided for a concession period of 30 years.

The initial investment for the project amounted to €1.3 billion, of which €700 million correspond to equity and loans, €296 to the contribution of the Greek State, while the remaining €300 million are paid off through the motorway’s toll revenues.

The Rion – Antirrion Bridge is one of the most emblematic projects in Greece and the world’s longest multi-span cable-stayed bridge of the fully suspended type. The construction of the Rion-Antirrion Bridge allowed for the permanent connection of Peloponnese to Western Mainland Greece and reduced the average crossing time to 2.5-5 minutes, instead of 45 minutes previously made with ferryboats, which were often out of service due to bad weather conditions.

The geographic location of the Rion-Antirrion Bridge is also quite important, as it is adjacent to the Athens-Corinth-Patras National Road from the side of Rio, while, on the side of Antirrio it is close to the Ioannina-Antirrio motorway, making it a safe and modern connection between the two motorways that connect Athens to Ioannina.

The Concession Agreement was signed on January 3^rd 1996 (although it was put into effect in 1997 when full financing was secured) and the period of the concession was set to 42 years.

GEFYRA S.A., the concessionaire, , in which AKTOR CONCESSIONS holds a 27.71% share, is responsible for the design, construction, financing, maintenance and operation of the Rion – Antirrion Bridge during the 42-year concession period.

The Rion – Antirrion Bridge possesses a continuous and fully suspended 2.2 km deck, while its 90 meters in diameter foundations rest on the seabed, which in some points reaches a world record depth of up to 65 meters.

Attica Tollway (Attiki Odos), is a modern high standard motorway extending throughout the Greek capital and constituting the first major co-financed road project constructed in Greece on a concession basis, through an international tender from the Greek State.

The total construction cost of Attica Tollway amounted to €1.3 billion and was financed by 35% by the Greek State, including funds from the Community Support Framework, while the Concession Company “Attiki Odos S.A.” (in which AKTOR CONCESSIONS holds a 65.8% share) covered the remaining 65%, using equity and loan capital from the European Investment Bank and Commercial Banks.

The Concession Agreement was signed on May 23^rd, 1996, and its expiration date has been set to October 5^th, 2024.

Attica Tollway constitutes the connecting link of the PATHE road axis (Patras – Athens – Thessaloniki – Evzoni), as it connects the Athens – Patras National Road with the Athens – Lamia National Road, by-passing the centre of Athens.

Being a closed motorway, it has controlled access points and consists of two sections, which are perpendicular to one another: the Elefsina – Stavros – Spata A/P motorway (ESSM), extending along approximately 52 km and the Imittos Western Peripheral Motorway (IWPM), extending along approximately 13 km, while also including a 5 km part of the Western Peripheral Egaleo Motorway (EWPM).

Attica Tollway has a total length of 70 km and includes, among others, 29 Interchanges, 25 Motorway Underpasses, 38 Rail Bridges, as well as 56 Tunnels/Cut and Cover sections with a total length of 12.6 km.

Moreas Motorway, part of the Trans-European Network (TEN), is a modern high standard motorway, which has drastically reduced travel time within the Region of Peloponnese, while making travel from Athens to Kalamata and from Athens to Sparta feasible in approximately two hours.

At the same time, the upgrading of the road network to motorway standards, with 2 lanes per direction and a central reserve (median barrier), has substantially contributed to increased road safety.

The total construction cost of the motorway reached approximately €1 billion and is financed by 30% by public funds, while the remaining 70% is financed by the Concessionaire (in which AKTOR CONCESSIONS holds a 71.7% share), which collects the motorway’s tolls in return.

The Concession Agreement was signed on January 31^st 2007, providing for a concession period of 30 years.

Having a total length of 205 km, Moreas Motorway includes 25 interchanges and 5 twin bore tunnels with a total tube length of 5 km.
